Kin Leonn is a Singaporean composer, producer, and the youngest artist releasing music under KITCHEN. LABEL.
To date, he has maintained a truly versatile presence in his home country. A first-class graduate of the London College of Music and a 2021 recipient of the Spike Stent award, he has composed numerous multi-channel sonic installations – notably for Singapore’s ArtScience Museum, SAM, London’s Architectural Association in collaboration with Sean Gwee, Singapore Art Week, and Singapore Night Festival. His original soundtracks for films such as ‘The Breaking Ice ( 燃冬)’ directed by Anthony Chen, ‘Crocodile Tears’ by Tumpal Tampubolon, and ‘Baby Queen’ by Lei Yuan Bin have premiered at numerous film festivals including Cannes, Toronto, BFI, and Busan.
As an electronic producer, he has various collaborations with London-based yeule, featuring in productions with Moderat, Lucinda Chua, and Yunè Pinku. His co-production and songwriting on the album ‘softscars’ with yeule was critically lauded, with Pitchfork naming the album #10 on their ‘Best 50 Albums of 2023’ list. As mixing/mastering engineer, his credits include Singaporean acts Subsonic Eye (for KEXP), Blush, and Mervin Wong.
